I don't know about you, but for me, it felt impossible at times to manage my personal life and my management job.
There's lots of different reasons (excuses) I would tell myself.
Now I'm in a place where I can reflect on the many life events I missed out on because I would sometimes (most times) put my career ahead of my personal life.
If I can make a plea to you as a manager, remember your career is not the only part of you.
Here's a tired line but appropriate, "when your ready to meet your maker, your not going to say, "I wish I spent more time at work."
Why am I getting so sappy?
Because yesterday my daughter and son-in law gave my wife and me a beautiful baby grand-daughter.
She's my second granddaughter.
I was always so "busy" I missed out on a lot of my four daughters important moments.
These two girls help me realize what life is all about.
I plan on being at all their life events.
I hope you do the same for you and yours!
Enjoy your life away from work!
Mike
